The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing psychiatric care to KSU students. Practitioner is expected to work independently in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Practice Act established treatment protocols, and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.
This position is responsible for providing psychiatric care through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues.
Plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care based on normal/abnormal findings using assessment skills and existing protocols.
Assess the need for consultation and collaboration with other team members (i.e. medical providers and/or CAPS clinicians). Refer patients to appropriate campus/community resources.
Serves as a mental health consultant to other medical providers and clinicians within the organization.
Current Kansas License to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate.
Graduation from a Nursing Education Program approved by the Kansas State Board of Nursing with 1-2 years experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in family practice and mental health.
